What are some unknown facts about Mauritius that most Mauritians are unaware of?

Maybe other people know but I wasn't aware that you get a Mauritian discount if you go to stay at hotels instead of paying the full price. I always thought you have to pay the same until someone said this to me and when I called up Indian Resort to stay there for a weekend, I found it to be true. Can't remember exactly how much I paid but I know it was a lot less than what foreigners pay :D
