Do you think cinema therapy really helps people for self-help and healing?

For self-help, you need to be a strong person with a determination to change your life in a positive way. Without the willingness to help yourself overcome your problems, you would probably not succeed and can get into further depression.
Depending on the problems you've experienced, in terms of how bad they were, some methods may or may not work. Cinema therapy uses the power of films to bring out emotions in a person and in some situations, it can help. A therapist will normally set out guidelines for you to choose what sort of films to watch but this alone is not sufficient when there are major psychological problems.
Of course for self-help and healing the mind it helps. I do it occasionally to remind me of how I ought to be; strong, happy and free by watching good quality films with no nonsense.
I can suggest films for you depending on what you want to 'become'.
