The project has been going on since 2009 and the mission was to improve services on the gov portal (gov.mu) and provide more facilities of local authorities online through e-services.

What's changed really? Is it easier to use? Have the services improved?

Wow they love throwing their money away. I have been using the website for years and I can say that there has been no change! Its amazing that they have spent Rs87M on something so stupid, the money could've been better spent elsewhere! I wonder who the lucky company was that they paid to do this?

A friend of mine told me that they're now using SharePoint for the gov.mu portal. It looks like they've changed the underlying technology but the service remains the same. Don't see that it's better in any sense. For me, the website is still slow and there's no enhancement to the services whatsoever.

They are using IBMHTTPServer/2.0.47.1-PK01070 Apache/2.0.47 (Unix) as their web server and SharePoint requires a Windows server.

Nothing has improved! Its still the same, even worse, with some browsers it still faces compatibility issues!! lol

I'd be interested to know what sort of problems you found. Please share.

Is there a list of improvements made? Because the way I used it years back is still the same.

I haven't found any lists for the changes they've done and like you, I find everything to be pretty much the same regarding the web portal, lol.
