I heard we need a telescope. But I don't have one! Don't want to miss it.

Well I missed it entirely -_-

It was only a tiny dot moving on the sun. Not as exciting as watching a solar or lunar eclipse.

If you're a member of the Mauritius Astronomical Society, then you can watch it from LUX Hotel in Grand Gaube.

However if you miss it, then you won't be able to see it again as the next occurrence in Mauritius will be 10th June 2498. In other parts of the world, people would be able to witness it on the 11th of December 2117 next.

From what I've read, the last time Venus was visible was on 8th June 2004. I wonder if any Mauritian was able to record or take a photo of it?

All information about the transition of Venus in Mauritius on the 6th of June 2012 can be found here
