When I first bought my notebook it came with Vista Home. It was genuine. I then upgraded to 7. I never formatted my notebook (it's been 3 years now!). It is smooth fast and I ain't got any virus according to my anti-virus and vaccination software.

The only problem is this activation. When I installed 7, it didn't show this. I could update my OS without any problem.

But when I installed the latest updates once, I think it is because of KB7441...something like this that detects if my windows is really genuine or not. I uninstalled it but the damage was already done.

Will never update any Windows OS again, even if it's genuine lol.

Starting with Windows 7, you have only a couple of days to activate your OS. If it's genuine, there's nothing to worry about and you can receive updates without any problems.

For counterfeit softwares, you need to disable the Windows Update but then again, Windows 7 will want to see if your copy is genuine and you'll have only a few days to do that, after which the notification will pop up.

If you manage to bypass the Genuine Windows Notification, you will not get Windows Updates and in my opinion this is very important. Microsoft Security Essentials which comes from Windows Updates is as good as an anti-virus program and it gets updated regularly as well.

In my opinion, a cracked Windows which doesn't get updates is vulnerable. You can get counterfeit softwares for everything else but your OS is everything.

Anyway, I use only genuine Windows now but in the past, I've tried lots of cracks and most of them had trojans/viruses when installed. The good ones did not do much to solve the problem of genuine windows and caused more hassles in the registry to be honest.

So far I've tried many things but it doesn't work for long. I remember getting this problem, I managed to fix it(with some program), but it lasted for only 15days. Best is to re-install your windows. Best of luck :)

Have you tried with Windows Loader?

Did that by windows loader itself, but it lasted for only 15days!!

If you had a fresh installation of windows, and you crack it via windows loader, it will eventually work :)
Have something to say?
