Where is the cheapest place for car rental in Mauritius?
I'm looking to hire a car to drive around the island and I've paid around Rs800 per day before. Is that the going rate to rent cars now? I need a car for like 14 days, so the cheaper deal I can get, the better.
The person I rented the car before is just an individual, no registered business, nothing. He said that if I'm stopped by the police to tell them that we are friends and he lended me his car. It seems dodgy and I'm not sure how this works out for insurance if i havve an accident.
So is there a genuine car rental company that can provide better rates or match that?

The only way to get cheap rates is to go with the people who don't declare their little car rental side business. Genuine companies have taxes and other expenses to pay and that's reflected in their charges.
