Where is the best place to stay in ebene
I just got an offer with the the Amity Institute as an international student. I will need a very affordable and modest accommodation upon my arrival which is the 3rd week in February.
I would need some advice to on how to go about it

This is not something you would be able to do from the internet unfortunately. There are 2 main websites (Lexpress and Orange.mu) for classified ads in Mauritius and 90% of the time, you would need to contact the owner by phone. The 10% who might reply to you by email would do so not in a timely manner.
So it would be better if you arrange for accommodation on campus for some time and when you're here, you can start looking for a place to stay that is within your budget. If you have a friend or know someone who can take on the responsibility to find somewhere for you to live, then do that by all means.
On a side note, if you are not able to speak Creole, you would be charged foreign rates. So again my advice is to come here first and make friends with Mauritians and seek their help to get an affordable place to stay.
