Do you find Skype better after Microsoft took it?

I don't use Skype that much so can't really comment.

However, I found the rates for calling abroad is more expensive with skype than with other VOIP providers. I assume most people use skype because they think it's a more cost effective solution to international calls but when you do a bit of research, you actually find they charge you more but because they've already established a name, people tend to use what they know.

What do you use Skype for?
