The first time you visit a country it’s safer and more convenient to book a holiday package. In most cases you will have a holiday representative and if you were to have any problems you have someone to turn to. Holiday reps are also useful because they can give you some great insider tips on the country such as, transport, places to go and places to eat. Holiday packages to far away destinations can also save you money as travel companies can get you a good discount saving you hundreds when you book flights and accommodation together. Mauritius holiday packages After doing much research you will find that all the beaches in Mauritius are beautiful so you may have a hard time choosing just one hotel. If you have a bigger budget then you can choose two hotels and split your time between both. There is a big difference between the beaches in the North compared to the South so you may want to experience both. There are also many different excursions on the island with some places being more accessible to others so if you don’t want to limit the places you can visit choosing the best place to stay can be critical. Flights to Mauritius can be very expensive and in some cases more expensive than the accommodation itself and vice versa. For example in off peak seasons flights only can be as cheap as £500 including taxes but during peak season you can be expected to pay £800 - £1,200. The good thing about the long haul flight is you have your meals included and depending on the plane the entertainment is also very good. The flight time on average is 12 hours so young children can become restless during the flight but if you get an evening flight then you can sleep through till the morning like you would do at home. Hotel accommodation in Mauritius can be expensive but there is something for all budgets, the majority of the hotels in Mauritius are luxurious so it can be hard to choose a bad hotel even if it is only just 3 stars. There are some places like Le Touessrok hotel that can charge as much as £1,500 a night with the average hotel stay around £800 for a week’s stay in a hotel on the island of Mauritius. If you choose to book via a travel agent then you can get flights and accommodation for as little as £900 each which is a bargain. You can save a lot of money by travelling during off peak season and as the weather is warm all throughout the year you’ll surely be able to have a nice time.
