I also dont want to discourage you to come here but if you have already secured a job for you here then you would not be having any problem in staying here or searching for a job as others have said its too difficult to get a job in mauritius.

Why do you plan to come here?

I don't want to discourage you but, there's a whole bunch of Mauritian on the list to become doctors. And priority will be given to them. The medical sector is in a chaos right now.

It won't be easy.

If you are a specialist then you might have a chance.

That really depends on the person and their background. If you're able to adapt with change properly, then you can live anywhere in the world without facing too many problems and with less stress.

I've also mention a person background as a second factor because if you come from a place which is more developed than Mauritius, you will then see the differences we have in our country a problem. I've relocated from England to Mauritius and I find it a struggle to adapt to the way of living here. Yes, it's a much nicer place to live in - no terrorist threats, a multi cultural society, beautiful island with superb beaches, scenery and nice weather but going about your everyday tasks can be a challenge. Government services are inefficient in my opinion, there's a lot of corruption and there's an imbalance of wealth here (you're either very poor or too rich).

However if you're coming from a place where the current standard of living is low, then it's going to be paradise for you here.

Speaking French is definitely a plus as the majority of people speak this language compared to English. I'd advise you to secure a job before making your move to Mauritius to avoid any disappointment.

Its not really easy to get a job as a Doctor here. I've a friend who is a Doctor, and he's still in search for a permanent job in a hospital or in the private sector. Like him there are many who I know are unemployed despite being a Doctor.

Moreover the percentage of unemployment keeps on increasing here in Mauritius. There are many graduates who is working as clerks, or some other job which doesn't even suite their qualification.

If you have some backing you'll be able to get yourself a job, and you'll be earning enough to be able to live easily.

It won't help.
By backing he means political support.

Try sending your resume though.

Getting a work here is very difficult edem. You're already a Certified MD, it'll even more difficult for you to get "any kind of work"..

Like Khush said try sending your resume, and if you get a job, you choose..
