Geta,
The Mauritian government will only provide financial help to citizens of Mauritius. So you will need to seek help from the Ethiopian government if your family falls into the low income group.
Otherwise, check to see if there are grants available to needy students like yourself whereby you can get loans at a much lower interest rate and are allowed to pay it back when you finish your studies.

If you wish so, you can arrange for accommodation with the UoM for your first week in Mauritius at Rs3,000/night; this will be as hotel accommodation so quite expensive. Once here, you can look for other accommodations like host families/flats/shared rooms (these are posted on notice boards at the UoM in your faculty) and depending on services being offered to you like meals/laundry etc, prices will vary but just to have an idea it will be around Rs 3,000/week (shared room), Rs 7,500/week (host family) up to Rs 9,000/week (real estate housing). I have a friend from Maldives who was studying in Mauritius; I will contact him and let you know more about accommodation and living expenses as soon as possible. Congrats for the scholarship :)
