youngsters don't use Facebook unless to create a family account. The reason is that many parents overly stalked them. These days they are on tiktok, snapchat, twitter and instagram. The majority are on Whatsaap. Again once the parents and adults come in huge numbers, they will go away
ya we know how facebook has taken over the world. In fact the last time insafe (organisation responsible to celebrate the internet safer day) published some stats regarding the number of accounts in facebook, it was like 500 million. And that was way back in feb 2011.
But the focus here is facebook affecting the lives of mauritian youngsters. I work in a security department, u'll be shocked to know how many students specially girls come over to report cases whereby they are being harassed.
It's high time parents and teachers start taking a stance of how their kids are using these social networking websites.

Facebook is indeed very popular and many people do not realise how dangerous it can be to share personal information on that social network.
Stalkers are able to know where you study or work and get to know your circle of friends. Sensitive information that you put about you can be misused if fallen in the wrong hands.
It's not only a treat to youngsters but to everyone.

It’s amazing how almost every youngster now has a facebook account what with the age limit and everything, I know people of 11, 12 having accounts but the worst thing I think is that they have more of a virtual life than a real one now, everything about their lives just goes public and sometimes I wonder just how people can reveal all their stuff over facebook like that and they even get into fights over stupid things without mentioning the photos, the addiction to facebook is the real problem though I do admit that it helps when you’re bored :P Facebook is also the platform where you get to know a lot of people, not very good acquaintances very often and I believe that the real threat is when things start to get out of hand and you no longer know how to back out of an awkward situation, just like the 14 year old boy who got drowned in a river last time, I read that plans were made over facebook and stuff, really sad I’d say...
ya u right about this virtual life issue.
people dont know how dangerous it can be and of course it's a great platform for predators and other jerks to victimize kids.
