Will knives bought on ebay be blocked by customs in Mauritius?
Hi
I was wondering if i buy knives (kitchen/military) on ebay then will it get blocked by the custom officer. And will it arrive at my post office just like any normal item?
Also, if i buy something big in size(a pc case for example), then will it arrive at my post office??
Thanks

Two things you need to be aware of when importing goods to Mauritius and they are prohibited items and controlled goods. Knives do not fall into any of these categories and therefore you can buy them on ebay and get them delivered here.
I've already written a good article on what happens when your order gets to Mauritius, so read it if you haven't. It answers what I haven't responded in your question.
yo i consult the mra site for guidance regarding the importation of knives and its far from what you said. can you just check it out and confirm this issue to me pleasee!
the link: http://www.mra.mu/index.php/12-home/import-export-others/91-import-restrictions
What MRA is essentially saying is that if the knife is more likely to be used as a weapon, then you are not allowed to import it. Kitchen knives, for example, do not have those restrictions.
It is prohibited to import certain types of weapons such as flick knives, swordsticks, knuckle-dusters, and any weapon designed to give the appearance of another article.
As always, it is best to give them a call if you are unsure when the item is prohibited or not.
