Giant eel spotted in Grand Bassin lake
The eel was very close to the footpath and measured 1.5 to 2 metres long. It appeared to be harmless and was not bothered by human presence. It was on the other side of the lake, away from where prayers are done.
Rumours say that there's a giant eel in the sacred Ganga Talao but it's more like a lockness monster than what's shown in this video clip. Have you seen the eel before or anything else lurking in the water?

there are bigger eels in gran bassin this one is tiny before the others... they are seen on sunny days and they are truly harmless... i've also heard stories that there is one which can be said to be "giant".... that big tht when it open its mouth its big enough for a human to enter without touching the corners! this was told to us by a priest working there long ago..
I've also heard about some really gigantic eels in Grand Bassin, a bit like the Loch Ness monster but there are no proof of it. Surely someone must have been able to take a picture if it exists considering that many tourists visit that place...
electric eels live only in south america, in the Amazon river and Orinoco river.... :)
yeah since I was a kid I've heard many stories about giant eels that eat people or protecting something like a treasure etc...they were scary and fascinating(at the time) :p

@Ayesha : Such a shame you don't have any pix or a good description of the creature as that would be awesome to get more details on this fascinating rumour :p
