Avast! Only problem is that you need to re-install every year as it gets locked down.
Microsoft Security Essential offers good protection as well.
Other choices are AVG, Panda Cloud Antivirus and Avira AntiVir Personal Edition.

The two best free antivirus are AVG and Microsoft Security Essential. I personally prefer AVG
Avast has more features than AVG though - IM, P2P, Network Shields as well as an Intelligent Scanner.
