What is the approximate cost of building a house?

Hello,

I am planning to build my house in mid 2016, and have started doing some research on permits, building materials etc.... but am finding it quite difficult to plan the expected costs! would love to know the approx price per sq metre for building a house on a 225 sq metre land.

If someone has any personal experience in this matter, your views will be highly appreciated.

For a while, I've also been trying to evaluate the pros and cons of saving to own your own house compared to renting/mortgage, and would love to hear your opinion.
