I've heard that Ilot Sancho is quite good for wind activities like kite surfing, wind surfing, parasailing etc. Is that right? I don't suppose it has a calm beach then where you can relax?

This small islet is located in the south of Mauritius, off the Riviere des Galets beach. One of the main peculiarities of the islet is that it can be easily accessed on foot during the low tide. It is not a very common tourist destination but a nice place to have a look around or picnicking. Suspected to be quite a young islet, it is mostly covered with trees and shrubs. As the story goes, the islet is known to be a famous place where pirates in the past used to bury their treasures.
The south of the island of Mauritius is known to be quite windy and where coral reefs are missing in a few places resulting in strong currents and waves. Ilot sancho is thus a very common place where surf can be done; coupled with the wind, the surf is ideal for all surf lovers in that part of the island. Billabong, the fashion shop, usually organizes surf competitions on the islet open to the general public as entertainment and competition amongst the surfers.
