Okay, did some research and here's what I found out. Generic travel is basically travelling without any specific destination in mind. Usually when you think about travelling, you have a country or place in mind where you would like to go to or there are some activities which you want to take part in and there's a particular place where you need to go. With generic travel however, you don't have anything specific in mind and you're just looking for a bargain. So you search for the best deals available for any given period of time and book it.

This way you get to have a nice holiday whilst making huge savings. You leave out the option for the destination and avoid peak seasons for different places and find places which are cheap to go to.
