Red : The red colour represents the blood shed during the fight for independence which we achieved in 1968
Blue : The blue colour represents warm and welcoming Indian Ocean where Mauritius is situated
Yellow : This is the golden sunshine and the new light of independence shining over our beautiful island
Green : This represents the healthy vegetation on the island
